Today is 6th March, 2019, Ghana's 62nd Independence Day.
On this happy ocassion, the faculty led by Prof. Kwame Karikari, Dean, and Ambassador Kabral Blay-Amihere, Head of Academic Affairs, and all students of the School wish Ghanaians a happy Independence Day.
May God richly bless you all.
We recollect on this momentous ocassion that Kwame Nkrumah, JB. Danquah and many other Freedom Fighters were journalists and media owners who practised the profession with candour and true nationalism.
Indeed, Kwame Nkrumah benefited from the inspiration of Nnamdi Azikiwe, a Nigerian journalist whom he met during his student days at Achimota School.
The School of Communication Studies, Wisconsin International University College, Accra, is proud to offer training to our many Nigerian students and students from other nations studying here with us. We consider it our sacred duty to share with humanity what we inherited.
Journalism is indeed a social good. And if this blog is to serve humanity then we must live up to those ideals of journalism, chief among which is the idea that news can never be for sale.
What that means also is that the blog should be open to all people on earth who wish to contribute meaningfully to the progress of humanity.
Yes, this blog will remain essentially a training ground for student communications practitioners, but it will no doubt be enhanced by the publication of solid world class content from all over the world.
For wizzbuzzblog.blogspot.com to be effective, a solid editorial policy must be published and enforced. This will be published in due course after wide consultations.
May we continue to 'cherish fearless honesty' and may the 'Black Star of hope and honour to all who thirst for liberty' be our inspiration.
Happy Independence Day.
