AKUFO-ADDO DELIVERS HIS THIRD STATE OF THE NATION’S ADDRESS.

Wisconsin Accra – 6 March, 2019

On Thursday, 28th February, President Nana Addo Dankwah Akuffo-Addo delivered his third state of the nation's address to the seventh Ghanaian Parliament.

In his address, President Akufo-Addo highlighted what his government has been able to achieve so far and the challenges it faces.

‘This is the state of play,’ he admitted to the poor sanitation situation but, promised to prosecute offenders henceforth.

He speech centered on different sectors of his government.

The president announced that the national parade for the 62nd Independence anniversary celebration will be held in Tamale, Northern Region.

He explained that the decision was part of his ambition to cement further the unity that was recently established in the Dagbon state with the enskinment of Ya-Na Abubakari Mahama II.

On education, the president stated that the new curriculum from kindergarten through to primary six will introduce History as a separate subject and, new technical and vocational education and training centres will be constructed.

He spoke about a recycling plant in Agbogloshie, Accra, construction of which will start in April.

Some Ghanaians were impressed with the address while others were not moved by it.

Critics on social media noted that their main concern was the economy which was in decline and urged the president to do something about it.
